- special, unique, outstanding attributes such as accessibility, one-of-a-kind pieces of equipment, etc.
2) Playground photos
- these can be of equipment only, or of equipment and children;

Hi – I don’t have kids but this is a great idea! One comment is that perhaps you might move the photos and maps modules on the right of the page to the top. That is the main reason that people would visit the site. The author blogs are very nice but not why people would repeat visit the site. I am with NSCC and might be able to offer some help if you had ideas of how our students might get involved. What type of help might you be looking for, if any?
Paul – It’s a good suggestion about moving the photos and maps closer to the top. My rationale for putting the author blogs there was so parents could check out a little what this person (me) was all about – a comfort level thing. I’m going to think about moving author blogs further down the page.
What do you teach at NSCC and that might give me an idea of how students could possibly get involved, or help. Meredith suggested sharing with Early Childhood educators and students. Sounds like a natural fit. I’ll be following up with her on that. If you could share the blog with any friends, family that have pre-teen kids that would be great too.
I really appreciate the time you have taken to look over the site and provide feedback. I’m always open to constructive criticism so don’t be shy to share comments with me at any time.
Thanks
Alex
hi Alex thank you for the site we have been to 15 or more playgrounds now.
My oldest is a big fan of monkey bars, we are trying to find the snakes and ladders.
Could you tell us where you have seen them?
thank you
mike
Hey Mike, glad you’re finding the blog useful. I have a blast visiting the playgrounds with my kids. Hope you’ll pass the blog on to friends and others you think might like it.
If you’re referring to the photo from the final post of the season last year, those monkey bars are located at St. Catherin’s school at the corner of Edgewood Ave. and Connolly St. in Halifax. Another great money bars playground we’ve come across is Landrace Playground in Dartmouth across from the Portland Estates area.
Always looking for playgrounds to write about – let me know of any you think we should visit.
Thanks
Alex
